Weddings at the Admiral’s House

The lovingly restored Admiral’s House forms part of the oldest collection of buildings on site. The venue is reminiscent of an elegant townhouse, with two floors, joined by a beautiful period staircase. Situated on the edge of the Thames, it affords awe-inspiring, yet tranquil views of the river and across to Canary Wharf and the City.

The Admiral’s House is your very own romantic hideaway, perfect for an intimate wedding filled with charm and warmth. The building is closed to the public, giving events held here a wonderful sense of exclusivity – you will be married in a rarely seen piece of history. There is even a special retreat for brides – the Kay Room, with its own bathroom and refined feminine surroundings. This is the perfect place to change, store your personal items and enjoy a glass of champagne with bridesmaids.

A Day of Joy and Wonder

Guests will enjoy beautiful views of the site as they arrive through the Westgate or by river taxi, to be welcomed into the lower lobby of the Admiral’s House.

We recommend the Webb Room for your civil ceremony, where dignified wooden paneling, a double height ceiling and sweeping river views will add elegance to the romance of the moment. Your ceremony will feel magical and intimate in this charming setting, steeped in history and tradition.

After the ceremony, you may enjoy a drinks reception outside by the lawn or in the lower lobby before you move upstairs to the light and airy Wren Room or the regal Hardwick Room for your wedding breakfast. This is a wonderful opportunity to take photographs capturing the enchanting backdrops offered by the grounds and architecture of the Old Royal Naval College. You will dine on the most exquisite wedding breakfast, served in an elegant and intimate setting, surrounded by the ones you love. With the speeches made and the feast enjoyed, it’s time to party!
